P.S. I decided to stay with Tumblr. Though it doesn’t have a good mobile posting option as much as Wordpress, it does have a really spiffy way to email in posts, and it turns out that works good enough for me. Plus, it’s just so darn customizable, and I really like that.
You might see a different look on my blog in the future, if I can ever muster up the time to really write a theme that I like…
Well, I’m facing a bit of a conundrum. I’ve been playing around with WordPress, which is a pretty sweet blogging platform, and I can’t decide if I should make the switch or not.
Pros:
Cons:
Well, that’s kinda what I’m facing. Lots of pros for WordPress, but the cons are kinda biggies. What do you guys think? Would you stop coming to my blog if I didn’t have the brandonmoon.com domain anymore? The new address would be brandonmoon.wordpress.com, so it wouldn’t change that much.
Go check it out here and then let me know what you think (either here or over there, it doesn’t really matter).
Update: Since no one is commenting, I’m leaning towards dropping the domain name. Doesn’t seem all that important to anyone.
Welcome to the new website! I switched to using a tumblr blog, since my website was getting out of date and I don’t really have the time to maintain it. Plus, this way you have a bit more visibility into my life, since it pulls in twitter and other stuff automatically. The theme might change, it’s still in flux. But, I believe this will be better in the long run.
So I added commenting through Disqus, and have been playing with all sorts of other options. What do you guys think? Is this a good option? So far I really like it…
So considering that GoDaddy just doesn’t have that great of hosting, and also considering the fact that I just haven’t had the time to update my site with all the functionality I want… I’ve been looking into tumblr. So far I find it an excellent solution, mainly because it’s free and allows me to point my domain at it. And, supposedly, it’s entirely customizable, so I could make it look like my old site if I wanted (to an extent). This, to me, makes it a great choice. Mobile posting would be so much easier, I’d likely post more often since it’s easier… I really don’t see a downside. Therefore, I am trying it out for a bit to see how I like it. The only part that I don’t like is that I’d have to leave my old content behind (unless I can find a way to import it). We’ll see.
